On Thursday, March 20th, the People’s Organization for Progress will host a special showing of the film ‘The Children’s March.’

This special showing will take place at the P.O.P. general assembly meeting at 6:30pm.

The film is a documentary on the historic mobilization of school age young people that took place Birmingham in May 1963. Their mobilization was violent repressed by Birmingham police, and their infamous police chief Bull Conner, but the spectacle of that repression actually helped movement forces seize momentum at a critical time in the movement’s history. It is produced by Teaching Tolerance.
