NEWARK — It pays to be early.

That’s what a group of New Jerseyans unhappily discovered when all 55 seats sold out on a Washington-bound bus leaving Newark early Monday morning, said Lawrence Hamm, state chairman for the People’s Organization for Progress.

There may be less buzz surrounding President Obama’s inauguration the second time around but that didn’t stop a hoard of callers from seeking last minute rides to the festivities, said Hamm, who confirmed today that the bus sold out Thursday night. He has since turned away roughly 50 callers.
